Shifter’s News Letter
November 27, 2011
Well how’s all the Shifter’s out there doing. Hope all had a great Thanksgiving. I made sure and got the power on last weekend so no interruptions during the cooking of the turkeys. I am pleased to report that all went well even tho we had pretty good rain and wind Saturday night/ Sunday morning to work with to get the power back normal and repairs complete. Believe it or not, I have had some people that have told me they had a great time around town with no power. They are probably the minority not majority in this case.
Have you check out the Shifter’s web site out lately??? Dave has done a great job. I recommend going and check out the latest thing he has added. There is a spot for the “Broken Rod Award”. The stories are great with pictures of proof. With cameras everywhere, it’s hard not to get caught. The great thing is that no matter who might have the fortune of getting it, it is received with the good humor it is intended to be.
Speaking of web sites, Dave is trying to get e mail addresses to try and modernize us so we might be able to keep everyone informed by email also. If you have e mail and would like to get a list together, please let Dave or I know and we will see how we do? Thanks.
Christmas is coming up, so hope to see you all at the party Dec.10th, Saturday. (See Flyer). It will be at Julie and my house. Sounds funny when I read it, but spell check bought it.
Installation dinner is in January 7th for new officers also see flyer. One thing I get a kick out every year is sitting around chit chatting at the Broiler before dinner and looking how all the chairs get moved around from when the first people arrive to when we go into dinner. Think the Broiler minds in the end??
While I am thinking about it, yearly dues are coming up now. Need to be in by January 31, 2012. You can mail them to Little Lake Auto; just make sure you put “Shifter’s” on the outside of the envelope. 1571 S. Main St. If you drop them off, put in envelope with “Shifter’s on it also. This would help out a lot and greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
Hope to see you at the parties,
Neil Orr
