SHIFTER'S NEWSLETTER

Well it’s that time of the year again. The holidays are upon us as I can tell because I love the fun of getting up early on Friday morning after Thanksgiving for what is now referred to as “Black Friday” which is what retailers are hoping this day will put them in the black instead of the red. I had to contribute to the local tax fund in Paso Robles this year while visiting my sister and family. The family and I took the trailer down and stayed in a nice park just down the road from the house. It was the first adventure with the whole family with the trailer. All went well, even driving through S.F. down 19th ave. so I wouldn’t have to pay any toll going over the bridges.

It is also that time of year again when club dues are do for the coming year. We are lucky in that the dues will stay the same as last year even with the price of everything going up. The $35 dollars will be able to cover expenses for the club which includes insurance, newsletters and misc. other expenses acquired during the year.
You can mail your dues to;
Shifter’s Car Club
1571 s. Main St.
Willits, CA 95490
Make sure your name is on the envelope even if you drop it off at Little Lake Auto also.

Let us see what we have been doing in November. We had a good participation on the Fall Color run. With I think around 15 participants, I drew the lucky straw to lead the group. We went down to Redwood Valley and cruised around the edge of the valley hoping I remembered the roads I use to drive on. Then we headed to Potter Valley starting out on the main street then turning on West Rd. We tooled on down that road making a left turn then a right turn, then another turn or to which put us back in Potter Valley heading out on East Rd. After a little confusion on were we were going to eat lunch and cars getting gas, we all did finally ended up at  Star’s for lunch.

The monthly meeting went well and we got a couple of nomination for the new board. The Christmas party was discussed (Dec. 6th) along with the installation dinner in January. The other Christmas party we are invited to in Ukiah (see flyer). We talked about possibly new events for next year, but tabled them for the new board to take on.

Thanks,
Neil Orr
